Front-end

That includes the websites’ front page, sub pages, blog archive, blog posts, and so on. The opposite of the front-end is the back-end, which in WordPress parlance is usually used as a  synonym to the administration panel. Only logged-in users can access the administration panel of a WordPress website.

The term front-end is also used as part of the job title “front-end developer”. A front-end developer is a web developer who’s focus is on writing code that outputs and styles web pages and makes those web pages interactive. The web development languages used by a front-end developer usually includes HTML, CSS and JavaScript. A front-end developer working with WordPress is often expected to be comfortable with PHP as well.
